Nervous System Healing – Mother of New Born – EFT Script

Below is a soft, trauma-aware EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) script created specifically for a mother of a newborn.

It honours sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, heightened alertness, emotional sensitivity, and the constant caregiving state of the nervous system.

Tone: soothing, reassuring, non-demanding
Pace: slow, with pauses for breath
Use: self-care, audio recording, feeding time, or 1-to-1 support

Nervous System Healing EFT Script

Mother of a Newborn

(Invite the mother to gently rate her current level of stress, overwhelm, or tension from 0–10. If that feels like too much, simply begin.)

Setup Statement (Karate Chop Point)

(Tap gently on the side of the hand)

Even though my body and nervous system are constantly responding to my baby…
even though I may feel tired, alert, and emotional all at once…
I honour myself with kindness.

Even though my nervous system rarely fully switches off…
even though I may feel on edge, overwhelmed, or stretched thin…
I acknowledge how much I am carrying.

Even though this season asks so much of me…
I choose to be gentle with myself right now.

Eyebrow

My nervous system is working around the clock.

Side of Eye

Listening… watching… responding.

Under Eye

Always ready for my baby’s needs.

Under Nose

My body is holding a lot of responsibility.

Chin

And it makes sense that I feel tired or tense.

 Collarbone

This is a big adjustment.

Under Arm

My system hasn’t had much rest.

Top of Head

I acknowledge this with compassion.

(Pause. Slow inhale… longer exhale.)

In this moment, I am safe enough.

Right now, nothing urgent is required.

It’s okay to rest inside.

I give myself permission to feel what I feel.

Fourth Round – Reassurance & Self-Trust

Eyebrow

I am doing the best I can.

Side of Eye

Even when it doesn’t feel like enough.

Under Eye

I am learning my baby, moment by moment.

Under Nose

I don’t need to get this perfect.

Chin

Presence matters more than perfection.

Collarbone

My care is enough.

My love is felt.

Top of Head

I trust myself more than I realise.

Fifth Round – Nervous System Integration

Eyebrow

My body is allowed to rest when it can.

Side of Eye

My nervous system is allowed to reset.

Under Eye

I don’t have to hold everything alone.

Under Nose

It’s safe to receive support.

Caring for myself supports my baby.

Under Arm

I matter in this season.

Top of Head

I allow calm, safety, and steadiness to settle into my body.

Closing

Take a gentle breath in…
and a longer breath out.

Notice your body.
Even the smallest shift is enough.

(If appropriate, invite re-rating of stress or tension from 0–10.)

Gentle Reminders for Mothers of Newborns

  • This can be done in 2–4 minutes, even while feeding or holding your baby

  • Short, frequent rounds are more regulating than long sessions

  • You don’t need to “feel calm” — allowing is enough
